Theatre renovation plans presented
8th Oct 2010
Theatre company Lostboys Productions wants to renovate the 500-seater concert hall at the former Railway Institute and is working on the project with the Waterfall pub, which is in the same building.
Members hope to reopen the venue, which they have named the Theatre@Waterfall, by September next year.
Guests at the event were given a 20-minute presentation by Paul Smith, director of Lostboys.
Mr Smith is leading the campaign along with Fraser Sanders, owner of the Waterfall pub.
He said: "I believe that this is not an investment in what might happen, it's an investment in what will happen.
"We need 200,000 but it's not just about people donating money.
"It's about donating time to come and help with a drill, a screwdriver or a paintbrush. It's about telling people what we are trying to do and spreading the word."
