Our electromagnetic (EN81 approved) dual circuit fail-safe brakes � ROBA�-stop Z, and electromagnetic calliper � ROBA?-stop-disk, were introduced to the elevator and escalator industries. The quiet operation and personnel safety characteristics of these brakes made them ideal for theatre and stage handling equipment/winches � achieving BGV C1 approval. Mayr�s approach of continual development resulted in the quietest brake available on the world market � the ROBA?-stop-silenzio. Switching noise is <50 d�A, although in tests have achieved significantly lower than this even after 500,000 switchings. Besides these standard series brakes, Mayr has supplied many individual customer specific solutions for the theatre industry, like the RSA high torque housed servo brake module.
